It was a Teenager Abuse Scandal.

Just so we are clear about what we are talking about: After 2001, about 3,000 cases of suspected abuse were sent to Ratzinger’s office in the Vatican.

These were most of the cases from 1950 onwards. So, it basically was a collection of all the abuse that was done during the period 1950-2004 or so.

Here is how those cases broke down: 

Most of these 3,000 cases have not involved the sexual abuse of young children, the prosecutor said. “We can say that about 60% of the cases chiefly involved sexual attraction towards adolescents of the same sex, another 30% involved heterosexual relations, and the remaining 10% were cases of pedophilia in the true sense of the term.”
