Oh, Great. Now Obama is Bribing Other Countries to Legalize Abortion

Do they have to go around the world, promising that the Great U.S. Spigot of Money will be turned on if countries will only legalize abortion?

The Obama administration is offering incentives to Kenya to approve a controversial new constitution that would legalize abortion for the first time, promising that passage will “allow money to flow” into the nation’s coffers, including U.S. aid.

There’s only one problem. It’s illegal.

But there’s a hitch to that pledge. A federal law known as the Siljander Amendment passed in 2006 makes it illegal for the U.S. government to lobby on abortion in other countries — and three U.S. lawmakers say they want a federal investigation into the promises made by the administration. …

It looks like Joe “Foot in the Mouth” Biden may soon be going to prison:

In a speech delivered last month in Kenya, Vice President Joe Biden urged the Kenyan people to pass the constitution in a referendum scheduled for Aug. 4.

“The United States strongly supports the process of constitutional reform. … Dare to reach for transformative change, the kind of change that might come around only once in a lifetime,” he said.

“If you make these changes, I promise you, new foreign private investment will come in like you’ve never seen,” Biden added.

But Biden promised “new foreign Private investment” not government foreign assistance money. So is he off the hook? I don’t think so. How can the government promise that private investment  will come? Obviously, he was aware of the law and purposely phrased his comments to try and promise something he could not deliver. Does that make any sense? It only makes sense if the administration was going to line up private sources of funds specifically as a result of the vote, and dependent on the vote. In effect, they are “lobbying”, but just using a sham structure to deliver the funds. Are those private sources of funds going to be compensated for their trouble, with government contracts, or some other kind of kick-back? Companies don’t invest millions in a place like Kenya unless something else comes their way. Are the private companies going to receive government foreign aid dollars, and then they invest? The whole things sounds like Oliver North and the Contras. Just like it, in fact. And the Democratic Congress got all bent out of shape about that one.

Joe just might go to jail over this one.

Why does Obama think it is his job to run around the world trying to kill babies? Doesn’t he have enough to do here?
